Great Minds is currently recruiting highly characterised volunteers who are willing to participate in experimental medicine and clinical trials. Our numbers continue to grow with around 12,000 individuals registered and available to be candidates for studies and trials.

Access to the register is free. It is a rich resource that makes it significantly easier to build a trial or study. Making it easier to do studies increases academic opportunities in dementia research and renews pharmaceutical industry interest in developing dementia therapies.

Members are recruited directly, through the Join Dementia Research website and from cohort studies represented in the DPUK data portal and hold data on age, family history of disease, MRI scans, mood, cognition and selected genetic and lifestyle data (exercise, smoking, and alcohol).

UNLOCKING GREAT MINDS FOR YOUR RESEARCH

FEASIBILITY TOOL

DPUK has developed a Feasibility Tool to help you determine if Great Minds members meet your study's requirements. Searches can be undertaken based on geography, health, cognition, physical health, general mental health and genomics. This tool minimises the costs and wasted efforts of 'screen fails' at the start of a study.

ACCESSING THE TOOL

To access the Great Minds Feasibility Tool you first have to register as a researcher here: https://portal.dementiasplatform.uk/Account/Register

If you have previously registered as a researcher, please access the Great Minds Feasibility tool here: https://portal.dementiasplatform.uk/feasibility/greatminds

AN ADDITIONAL REGISTER - THE DPUK CLINICAL STUDIES REGISTER

The Clinical Studies Register (CSR) is part of the DPUK re-contact platform designed to foster highly targeted clinical studies for conditions that cause or contribute to dementia.  The CSR comprises individuals who have already undergone extensive characterisation and have pre-existing consent for re-contact through their parent DPUK cohort.  By combining detailed phenotyping and, where available, genomic data from cohorts, the CSR enables risk stratification per hypothesis at a level of detail and convenience that would not be otherwise available.

CLINICAL STUDIES REGISTER

Like the Grat Minds register, DPUK has developed Feasibility Tools to hep in determining whether participants meet your study's requirements.

ACCESSING THE CSR TOOL

To access the Clinical Studies Register Feasibility Tool you have to register as a researcher here: https://portal.dementiasplatform.uk/Account/Register

If you have previously registered as a researcher, please access the Clinical Studies Register Feasibility tool here: https://portal.dementiasplatform.uk/feasibility/csr
