Alzheimer Scotland is the leading dementia organisation in Scotland. They campaign for the rights of people with dementia and their families and provide an extensive range of innovative and personalised support services. | |
Dementia Care is a charity that provides specialist care, support and advice to people with dementia and other neurological disorders. They also support a small number of people with functional mental health disorders and learning. | |
Alzheimer's Society is a membership organisation, which works to improve the quality of life of people affected by dementia in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Alzheimer's Society staff and volunteers provide both local information and over 2,000 services. | |
Dementia UK provides Admiral Nurses – specialist dementia nurses who give expert, practical and emotional care and support for family carers, as well as the person with dementia. Admiral Nurses provide families with an understanding of dementia and give them the tools and skills to deal with challenges effectively. They can also provide referrals to other appropriate services and liaison with other professionals. | |
MND Scotland is the only Scottish charity providing care and support to people with Motor Neurone Disease (MND), their families, friends and carers. They provide a wide range of services, information about MND, and funding for research. | |
The Motor Neurone Disease Association is the only national charity in England, Wales and Northern Ireland focused on MND care, research and campaigning. They are a membership organisation with nearly 8,000 members forming a powerful national and local network that provides information and support alongside fighting for improved services. |

BRACE is a registered charity that funds research into Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Their role is to help medical science understand the causes of dementia, find ways of diagnosing it earlier and more accurately, and develop more effective treatments. | |

Mental Health Foundation are working for an end to mental ill health and the inequalities that face people experiencing mental distress, living with learning disabilities or reduced mental capacity. They develop and run research and delivery programmes across the UK providing evidence and expertise to help discover what works and how to intervene earlier. | |
RICE carry out research covering a wide variety of areas, intended to advance the knowledge and treatment of the more serious conditions affecting older people, in particular Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, and to improve their quality of life. | |
Brain Research Trust is the umbrella charity for research into conditions of the brain and nervous system. They were established in 1971 to promote and support research into the causes, treatment, prevention and cure of neurological diseases. |

Brains for Dementia Research is unique from other brain banks, as the memory, thinking and behaviour of each prospective donor are monitored throughout their later life.
